The Ford Company has already managed to make the first “charged” modification of its third Focus – at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September of 2011 the premiere of Focus ST took place. Now the American company is working on a new Focus RS, but it is not necessary to wait before 2014.

There are already first details about the future car. Focus RS will be equipped with a turbocharged four – cylinder 2.3 – liter engine with a direct fuel injection with the capacity of more than 320 hp instead of the 2.5 – liter five – cylinder engine with the capacity of just over 300 hp. Incidentally, this same engine is planned to be put in a new Mustang. It promises to be more economical than the engine of the current generation. At the same time the rumors that the hot – hatch will be equipped with a hybrid power plant consisting of a gasoline engine and an electric engine, and an all – wheel drive, have not been confirmed.

The hatchback will be available only with the front – wheel drive, because the extra weight, which gives the four – wheel drive transmission, the benefit of the dynamics will not go. The front suspension will remain the same – RevoKnuckle with separate swivels.
The new “hot” modification of Focus will be produced exclusively in the five – door body, the three – doors with the nameplates RS is not provided. It is an unusual decision, because traditionally the powerful sports versions of the three – door hatchback has been selected, it looks more dynamic, it has a better body rigidity and less weight.
The new Ford Focus ST, presented in Frankfurt, is equipped with a 2 – liter engine of the family EcoBoost, forced up to 250 hp, paired with a six – speed manual transmission.
This version competes with such cars as VW Golf GTI, Opel Astra OPC, etc. “rockets of the city”.
