The Audi Company officially unveiled the most powerful version of the “quartet” in the history of this model. According to the tradition, it is called the RS 4. And The Audi Company returns to its roots – it will be universal! Everyone, of course, is interested in what kind of engine is under the hood of this “rocket”.
And there is hidden a 4.2 – liter V8 engine with the capacity of 450 hp at 8,250 rev / min and with the torque of 430 N ∙ m – exactly the same as that of Audi RS 5 coupe. And in general the technical stuffing is virtually identical to the RS 5.
The wheel drive transmission is only one – seven – speed S – Tronic with double clutch. The permanent quattro all – wheel drive with a new central differential can if necessary transfer up to 70% of the time on the front axle or up to 85% on the back one. In the normal driving mode on the dry pavement the rear axle will get 60%. Also, with RS 5 on RS 4 Avant the hydraulic system of suppression rolls DRC migrated.
From the standard model A4 the new model is distinguished by the hard way, the other settings, the steering control, the ground clearance reduced by 20 mm, the new brake discs with a diameter of 365 mm. Also on the list of options will be beautiful 20 – inch wheels.
Audi RS 4 Avant is able to accelerate to “hundred” for 4,7 seconds, the maximum speed is limited at 250 km / h. However, if desired the driver can order the increase in the “maximum speed” up to280 km / h.
The official premiere of RS 4 Avant will be held in early March at the Geneva Motor Show.
