The Italian body builder studio Pininfarina following the example of its colleagues will also show its new development in Geneva. However, the concept Cambiano will be more ”peaceful” than many of the neighbors - coupe shaped sedan with the landing formula 2 + 2 received a diesel – electric mechanical means of propulsion.
The name of Cambiano traditionally is taken what is called, not from the ceiling - in the town of Cambiano are now located the head office of the studio, the design center and the research department. Namely due to the latter the concept is equipped with the original power plant: each wheel of the sedan is equipped with its own electric engine, developing at the peak of about 150 kW. One more engine, a small turbo diesel engine, replenishes the reserves of the electricity and in a number of cases is able to rotate the wheels. Please note that according the assertions of the developers this diesel claims for the compliance with the concepts concerning the ecology Euro7. In such a way the total capacity of the concept is close to 820 horsepower, and the amount of the emissions of CO is detected at a level of only 45 g / km.
Cambiano can accelerate to 100 km / h in 4.2 seconds and the distance of the run on a single charge and the charging is approximately 800 km. At the same time relying purely on the electricity, the sedan can travel no more than 250 kilometers, writes the agency of Automotive News.
The concept received an unusual four – door body, in which one driver’s door is combined with the two doors of the passengers on the right side and the door of the trunk, while the body does not have the central pillars. In the manufacturing of the body the carbon fiber was widely used, reinforced with the aluminum in the vicinity of the front and rear suspension, as well as the place where the batteries are located. Let us add that according to the designers, they obtained the inspiration in the shape of a large coupe Lancia Florida of 1957 year production.
Anything on the prospects of the serial production of Pinifarina Cambiano has not been reported yet.
