According to the German edition AutoBild, the BMW Company is working on creating an entirely new model, which will be called 1 GT. But one should not think that it would be just another modification of the 1 – series. GT should be a revolutionary model for the company. After all, this car will be equipped with not only by the four – cylinder engines, and also by the engines with three cylinders. But the most interesting thing is that 1 GT receives a front – wheel drive!
It is most likely that on the core of 1 GT lies the universal platform of the next – generation of Mini (let us recall that Mini will release 10 different models by 2020). BMW 1 GT receives a fairly high roof, and rear seats that can be separately adjusted in several directions simultaneously. In addition, the car will be different by a lot of various drawers and shelves. In general, 1 GT will become almost a mono cab, and it will be the main rival of Mercedes – Benz B – Class. The premiere of 1 GT will take place only in 2014. But it is not excluded that up to that point we will see similar concepts in different show rooms.
