Volkswagen planned the European debut of the off – road sport – concept Cross Coupe at the Geneva Auto Show. However, in Switzerland, the sports crossover will arrive in a substantially upgraded version.

The first thing that catches your eye is the concept has changed its color. For the Europe Volkswagen Cross Coupe, first shown at the Tokyo Auto Show is now repainted in a brighter red color.

The power plant has undergone a substantial upgrade. If in Japan the concept featured as usual, in general, hybrid, so on the Swiss soil it will already appear as a diesel – electric one. The place of the petrol turbo engine will take a new four – cylinder diesel engine with the volume of the 2 – liter and with the capacity of more than 180 horsepower.

In other respects the scheme of the power plant will not change – the concept will retain two electric motors, one of them is with the capacity of 54 hp, together with a diesel engine and rotates the front axle and the second is with the capacity of 115 – horsepower – it rotates the rear, thus providing the all – wheel drive prototype. Thus, the total capacity of the power plant is slightly more than 300 hp.

The diesel engine can be used both for the movement and to recharge the batteries while only in the electric mode Cross Coupe can travel about 40 miles. In the hybrid prototype, like many other concepts of VW, has a unique fuel economy – about 1.8 liters per 100 kilometers.

On the serial prospects of the hybrid nothing is said yet, but it is believed that Volkswagen Cross Coupe can be considered the forerunner of a new generation of crossover Tiguan.

An extensive family of Volkswagen up! will be filled up with four modifications of hatchbacks. The German company carries to Geneva another brood of small cars, including options for the snowboarders, pizza delivers and especially for the patriots of Switzerland.
The body of Volkswagen Swiss up! is painted in the colors of the Swiss flag. The interior of the hatchback is painted with the shades of red and white colors. The highlight of the interior became the special attachment for a pen knife.

The white – blue winter up! Is a variation on the theme of last year’s “all – terrain” Cross up!, which differs by a specialized purpose. The concept is designed for the winter sports lovers and is equipped with not only a specially tuned ESP with a differential lock, but also with the mounts for the four snowboards on the roof, and the protection of the bottom.
The version X up! Too is based on the VW Cross up!, however, focused on the night traveling. For this it is painted in the bright orange color and has a rooftop special “luster” from the sources of the additional lighting.
And finally, Cargo up! the only one which has only three doors, not five. It is a compact van, involving the commercial use in the areas related to the operational delivery of the small loads. It lost all the seats except the driving, but instead received a 1400 – liter cargo bay, which can fit up to 420 kg of luggage. Moreover, the cargo up! is equipped with roof rails, additional tanks in the cabin floor, and a special partition that separates the driver from the rest of the cabin. 60 -strong Cargo up! can accelerate to 160 km / h, while consuming 4.5 liters per 100 kilometers.
